Snyk vs MopokeHQ: a Snyk alternative for teams on GitLab

Snyk is a broad developer security platform with its own vulnerability database, its own SAST engine, IDE plugins and a free plan. MopokeHQ is narrower: vulnerability response and compliance evidence for teams on GitLab, with client communication for agencies.

The short answer

Choose Snyk if

Your developers want findings in their IDE, you use several source code platforms, or you want reachability in prioritisation.

Choose MopokeHQ if

Your code lives in GitLab, including self-managed behind a firewall, you need to know which fixes reached production, you want unlimited users, or you need client notices and evidence packs.

Where Snyk is stronger

Snyk has been doing this longer and covers more ground.

  • Vulnerability research. Snyk maintains its own vulnerability intelligence database. MopokeHQ uses public feeds: OSV, php.net security releases, CISA KEV and FIRST EPSS.
  • Reachability. Snyk factors reachability into its risk score. MopokeHQ does not analyse code reachability.
  • Developer tooling. Snyk has IDE plugins. MopokeHQ works in CI and merge requests.
  • Its own SAST engine. Snyk Code is Snyk’s own. MopokeHQ takes SAST as SARIF, Semgrep by default.
  • A free plan covering SCA, SAST, IaC and containers, with test limits.
  • Breadth across source code platforms, IDEs and CI tools.

Where MopokeHQ fits

Built for teams whose code lives in GitLab and who answer to auditors or clients.

  • GitLab on every plan. One CI include line, merge request comments, fix merge requests and deploy reporting. Snyk’s docs state its GitLab integration is available only with Enterprise plans.
  • No inbound access. Snyk’s docs say Snyk Broker is required for a private network. MopokeHQ never connects in; your runner uploads.
  • Proof a fix is live. Exposures close only when the fixed version is seen deployed.
  • SLAs and escalation. P1 email straight away, P2 daily, P3 weekly. An unacknowledged P1 escalates after 4 hours.
  • Unlimited users. Priced by active project, not by contributor.
  • Sydney storage on every plan. Snyk offers an AU region on Enterprise plans only.
  • Client notices and evidence packs for ISO 27001, SOC 2 and Essential Eight.

Pricing models

Snyk has a free plan, a Team plan, and an Enterprise plan billed in prepaid credits counted per active contributor per day. See their pricing page for current figures.

MopokeHQ counts active projects: projects with an upload in the last 30 days. Users and client viewers are unlimited.

How MopokeHQ pricing works

Data residency

Snyk’s AU region is for Enterprise plans, and its docs say billing, support and authentication data stay global. MopokeHQ stores all data in Sydney on every plan. AI processing is outside that region, and one switch turns it off.
